Sunnyvale's Tough-Guy Cyrus Rolls Into Mannville Feb. 25th

Known across North America and beyond for his red Corvette, dark sunglasses and black leather jacket, Sunnyvale Trailer Park’s recurring visitor Cyrus will be bringing his 9mm sidekick with the “safety always off” to Mannville. On Feb. 25, actor/comedian Bernard Robichaud, best-known for his tough-guy character on the Canadian hit TV series Trailer Park Boys, will be making a stop at the Mannville Hotel as part of his latest comedy tour through northern Alberta.

Mike Carlson, owner and manager of the hotel was contacted by an old friend and owner of the Comedy Factory in Toronto, Bob Angeli, who offered up dates to bring this popular TV character to Mannville.
“This is a show I thought would really fit in with this area being the Trailer Park Boys and all,” said Carlson who used to perform comedy himself in Toronto working with Angeli.

With the show ending its seven-season tenure in 2008, Robichaud said he just started to do a Cyrus comedy show last year and has since transformed a 25-minute routine into a 70-minute show exploring the character behind the flashy car and 9mm pistol.

“I don’t really talk about the other characters at all because there was so much that wasn’t really developed with the Cyrus character and it’s always something people ask me about,” said Robichaud from his home in Moncton, N.B. “So what we decided to do is to talk about Cyrus and his women, his car, school and his mom and dad and other things that make up the character.”
